The conference which began as the Golden State Athletic Conference in the mid-1980s has taken on a new name to reflect its new look.

The GSAC will keep its acronym, but now its full name is the Great Southwest Athletic Conference.

GSAC membership now includes five NAIA schools from the state of Arizona, as well as three schools in California.
